Senior IT Project Manager

Senior IT Project Manager

We’re looking for a seasoned IT Project Manager to join our ranks and help secure a winning ticket for project success.

Job Description

As Senior IT Project Manager your tasks will be: Managing challenging long-term development projects – and by challenging, we mean that you do not only have to forward emails. You have to manage resources, schedules, risks, scope, and stakeholders within and outside, the lot; We don’t need you to write code, but it is more than welcome if you understand it and don’t get intimidated by the sight of a GitLab. Rest assured, your teammates will be here to back you up and fill in the blanks if needed; Running (and sometimes running to) status meetings to ensure a smooth delivery, providing updates on status and impediments; To excel independently. We rely on your knowledge and ability to set priorities and solve upcoming challenges right before they turn into issues, and then problems; Feel comfortable using JIRA and Confluence, as they are our second-best friends when it comes to scheduling, specs, and, docs. Excel and spreadsheets also prove useful – while you won’t write macros, you should be able to use various functions.

Job Responsibilities

  • You have managed multiple complex web projects that you delivered for external clients in the last few years, from specifications to release and support. On the technical side, you are familiar with different backend and frontend technologies, both venerable and new, plus apps in Go and Rust.
  • You have excellent communication skills in Hungarian and English, as you will have to use both in your day-to-day and moment-to-moment tasks.
  • You can read between the lines (absolutely no pun intended), especially when it comes to translating client dreams and wishes into tangible technical requirements.
  • You use ticketing (as you’ve seen, we use JIRA) and know that a bug report should be more than just saying “there is something wrong with the API, pls check”. You are eager to dive into the deep end if there is something fishy in a record.
  • Be a team player. Go, team!

Job Requirments

  • have software development experience (even if gained in a home garage setting),
  • have any experience with GitLab as our code is living there,
  • are okay with CI/CD (and know it doesn’t stand for some compact disc),
  • are interested in DevOps (as there are several options for learning here),
  • are acquainted with both Agile and Waterfall,
  • dabbled in business analysis or held other auxiliary functions to PM,
  • worked with a nice, diverse portfolio of clients on your professional journey. We promise that exciting prospects are on the horizon!
